The authorized persons of the Ministry of Culture and Project Technical Support Team attended the Expo Heritage Istanbul Fair on April 11-13, 2019 with respect to increasing the visibility of the project of Turkish Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage.<\/p>\n

Heritage Istanbul is a conservation, restoration, archaeology, museum, technology fair and conference, which has taken the such matters as expansion and protection of cultural heritage awareness in Turkey, and which intends to develop the products, services and technologies accordingly.<\/p>\n

The 41st International Excavation, Research and Archeometry Symposium in Diyarbak\u0131r was held with more than 300 distinguished participants, including the scientists from the field of archeometry and archaeology as well as the academicians specialized in the art history. During the meeting, information was provided on the works and road map of the Turkish Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage. Search Conference with Heads of Archaeology Institutes of Missions of Other Countries<\/strong><\/p>\n

June 26, 2019<\/p>\n

The Search Conference with the Heads of the Archaeology Institutes of the Missions of the Other Countries was held with the participation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, Central Finance and Contracts Unit and Heads of the Archaeology Institute of the Missions of the Other Countries in Turkey. The purpose of the search conference is to determine the contributions to be provided by the Institute in collaboration with the archaeology community as well as the needs thereof. During the meetings held to shed light on the corporate identity design of the Turkish Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage as well as the sustainable planning and management of this identity, a sustainable \"reason for existence\" and \"value system\" proposition, which constitutes the main axis that will ensure the alignment with the establishment and activity targets of the Institute and all communication studies to be carried out from now on, was put forward. The Head of EU Delegation to Turkey, Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut has visited the Turkish Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage. Meyer-Landrut reviewed the complex and the Archeometry Laboratory at the Kendirli Cultural Center in Gaziantep, which has undergone a restoration in order to operate as the headquarters of the Institute.<\/p>\n

Delivery of Archeometry Laboratory Device<\/strong><\/p>\n

April 12, 2021<\/p>\n

Some of the devices, which are purchased for the Archeometry Laboratory that will serve at the Kendirli Complex in Gaziantep, were delivered and installed. The devices were received by Gulsu Simsek Franci, one of the project experts, and by Ilkay Ivgin, an authorized person of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey.<\/p>\n

Visit of the Institute by Abdulhamit Gul, the Minister of Justice<\/strong><\/p>\n

May 15, 2021<\/p>\n

Abdulhamit Gul, the Minister of Justice, visited the Institute Building in Gaziantep. Gul, the Minister, was accompanied by Davut Gul, the Governor of Gaziantep, and by Fatma Sahin, Metropolitan Mayor of Gaziantep. During the visit, in which R\u0131fat Onur Ibci, one of the Project Experts, provided information about the project and the Institute building, the Minister also visited the exhibition indicating the establishment purpose, development and activities of the Institute.<\/p>\n

Midterm Assessment Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

July 01, 2021<\/p>\n

The project stakeholders, expert team and technical support team came together during the meetings hosted by the Kendirli Complex in Gaziantep, which is intended to constitute the center of the Institute. The presentations were performed with respect to the restoration, publications, archeometry laboratory, library and digital archive, archaeological tour routes, exhibition preparations in relation to the progress of the project as well as with respect to the communication and legal process, the trainings, and the works in relation to the council.<\/p>\n

During the meetings, in which the opening speech was performed by Fatma Sahin, the Metropolitan Mayor of Gaziantep, and all aspects of the project were discussed, and a road map was drawn by exchanging opinions.<\/p>\n

Preliminary Meeting of the Chairmen of the Commission for the National Archaeology Council I<\/strong><\/p>\n

October 21, 2021<\/p>\n

A meeting was held with the Chairmen of the Commission for the National Archaeology Council I intended to be held at the Institute in in May. 11 commission headings were determined, and the meetings were held with 11 chairmen of the commission and the Authorized Persons of the Ministry.<\/p>\n

Training of the Representatives of the Non-Governmental Organizations<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first training was provided to the Representatives of the Non-Governmental Organizations in Gaziantep on October 22-23. More than 120 participants participated in the trainings under this training.<\/p>\n

Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Training Program for Young Archaeology Messengers<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the Second Training program, the trainings were provided to High School Students in Gaziantep at the Headquarters of the Institute. The students participated from nearly 90 Gaziantep High Schools and Bahcesehir Private School.<\/p>\n

Meetings of the Commission for the National Archaeology Council I Held<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first meetings were held by the commissions for the National Archaeology Council I. Some of these meetings were held at the headquarters of the Institute in Gaziantep while some of them were held online due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n

The works for organization of \"Tarih Size Bakiyor, Ara Guler Fotograflarinda Arkeoloji Sergisi\" (History is Looking at You, Archaeology Exhibition in Ara Guler's Photographs), which will be held at the exhibition and conference hall of the headquarters of the Institute, were started.
