The book covers the lives, plans, trips, and excavations of pioneers \u2013ranging from antiquity enthusiasts who traveled to Anatolia in the early nineteenth century to those who excavated during the institutionalisation of archaeology\u2013 in regions and cities from prehistoric to classical times.
