He was born in 1968 in Istanbul. After graduating from German High School, he graduated from the Department of Business Administration (in English language) of the Faculty of Business Administration of Istanbul University.

In 1985, he started to serve in the tourism sector and work as a guide while studying in the high school. After graduating from the university, he founded his own company offering package tours and hotel accommodation services in 1991.

Having started to operate in the field of hotel management in 2000, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy was appointed as the Minister of Culture and Tourism by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the first cabinet under the Presidential Government System after serving for 33 years in the tourism sector.

After starting to serve a Minister, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy transferred all his duties and titles in his company on July 9, 2018.

Speaking German and English in advanced level, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy is married to Pervin Ersoy and has two children.
